BART will launch a pilot program to allow bicycles on board trains all day long on Fridays in August. The idea is to see how allowing bikes on trains all day, including rush hour, will affect passengers and train operations.
Hey non-bike-riders! Borrow a bike and bring it on BART one of these Fridays in August and be a jerk; stand with it extending halfway across the doors and ignore the obvious remaining places left for you to stand because you’re hoping that one of the old people with physical disabilities might get up and let you sit down in those seats near the doors, so we can show BART what it’s like to ride their trains with bike people who ignore common courtesy as long as there are no cops around to enforce it.
Hey everybody! Bring your bike on BART one of these Fridays in August and be extra polite and accommodating, so we can all show BART that bikes are no more of a problem than ridiculously oversized strollers and other nonsense that is currently permitted on trains.
